ระบบการศึกษา International Baccalaureate หรือ The IB Diploma Program

การศึกษาระบบ IB เริ่มใช้ในปี 1969 โรงเรียมัธยมศึกษาในหลายประเทศใช้ระบบการเรียนระบบ IB ได้รับความนิยมแพร่หลายทั่วโลก สำหรับนักเรียนที่อายุระหว่าง 16 ถึง 19 ปี ระบบ IB Diploma ใช้เวลาเรียน 2 ปี โดยมีโครงสร้างหลักสูตรดังนี้

1. นักเรียนต้องเรียนทั้งหมดรวม 6 วิชา ซึ่งมาจากระดับ Higher Level 3 วิชา (รวม 240 ชั่วโมง) และ Standard Level 3 วิชา (รวม 150 ชั่วโมง)
2. วิชากลุ่ม 1-5 เป็นกลุ่มบังคับ และ กลุ่ม 6 เป็นวิชาเลือก นักเรียนต้องเรียน 1 วิชาจาก Group 1, 2,3,4, 5 และ สามารถเลือกวิชาที่ 6 จาก กลุ่มใดก็ได้ แต่โดยทั่วไปนักเรียนจะเลือกเรียนวิชาที่ 6 จาก กลุ่ม 6
   

   Group 1	Language A 1	Compulsory
   Group 2	Second Language	Compulsory
   Group 3	Individual and Societies	Compulsory
   Group 4	Experimental Sciences	Compulsory
   Group 5	Mathematics and Computer Science	Compulsory
   Group 6	The Arts	Optional

3. นอกจากนี้ โปรแกรมมีอีก 3 ส่วนหลักที่นักเรียนต้องผ่านการประเมินผล คือThe extended essay
   เป็นการวัดความสามารถทางการทำวิจัยและเรียนรู้จากการค้นคว้าด้วยตัวเอง
   (The extended essay is a requirement for students to engage in independent research through an in-depth study of a question relating to one of the subjects they are studying)

   Theory of knowledge
   ออกแบบให้ส่งเสริมนักเรียนในการมองมุมต่างๆขององค์ความรู้ โดยใช้การวิเคราะห์ และตรวจสอบหาเหตุผล
   (Theory Knowledge is a course designed to encourage each student to reflect on the nature of knowledge by critically examining different ways of knowing (perception, emotion, language and reason) and different kinds of knowledge (scientific, artistic, mathematical and historical).

   Creativity, action, service
   ความคิดสร้างสรรค์ การกระทำ และการบริการ เน้นให้นักเรียนเรียนรู้ผ่านประสบการณ์ตรงนอกห้องเรียน โดยผ่านกิจกรรมที่ออกแบบมาให้นักเรียนได้สร้างทักษะทั้ง 3 ส่วนข้างต้น
   (Creativity, action, service requires that students actively learn from the experience of doing real tasks beyond the classroom. Students can combine all three components or do activities related to each one of them separately. )
